Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Ego II
The ego is a false notion of who we are (Hazrat Inayat Khan)...we struggle through life, attempt to derive our strength solely from our self-image of a separate ego--a source of weakness that ultimately compounds our problems.

New Perspective
If only you could see yourself through my eyes, you'd see how beautiful you are.

Ego
Good News = Discovered I can do the splits on my left side in yoga class today! Yay!
Bad News = I pulled my hamstring when I did! Now I'm laid up in bed.
So...what was I thinking when I was doing my splits? Wow! I can't believe I'm doing this. I can't wait to show this off to Tana!
And then? SNAP!
Darn Ego! Lesson learned.
